The popularity of Distance Running (5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathon) and Triathlon has grown tremendously over the past few years. Many individuals run their first 5K as a goal to aim for while getting back in shape and then find that they really enjoy the race and training and immediately sign up for their next race. Triathlon has grown on the back of the popularity of running as more experienced (and sometimes less experienced) runners look for an event to stretch and test their abilities further.
In Bristol we are blessed with fantastic events such as the Bristol Half Marathon, Bristol 10K and more recently the Bristol Triathlon. Setting a target to complete such an event or to improve your best at such an event is a fantastic way to stay motivated and here at Aaron Tyler Personal Training we have coached over 100 individuals to do so.
Training successfully for such an event involves strength, endurance, speed and flexibility. Far too often people just focus on the distance that they need to complete. This can lead to injury and de-motivation.
As with all of our other training programmes, our running and triathlon programmes are designed with the individual in mind and focus on their specific strengths and weaknesses.
