Keren Tyler
Weight Loss and Pre + Post Natal Specialist
Hi, I’m Keren, a fully qualified exercise professional and personal trainer, who specialises in pre and post natal exercise. I’ve always had an enthusiasm for sport and keeping fit, but only recently decided to pursue my dream of becoming an exercise professional and making the move into the industry from my previous role as a Corporate Account Manager.
What spurred me to do this? Well, in 2009 I gave birth to my first child, and thanks to safe and effective training before, during and after my pregnancy, I bounced back to fitness. Then, in July this year, we had another baby boy, and again my training efforts have meant a nice quick recovery and gradual return to fitness.
During my first pregnancy it was difficult to get the advice I needed with regards to exercise, in fact most people I approached suggested that I should stop exercising all together! But after having been a keen exerciser up until my pregnancy, I couldn’t believe this was true. So I looked to a personal trainer for advice and realised that safe and effective exercise throughout pregnancy really is beneficial for both mum and baby! Straight away I signed up to Premier Trainings’ level 3 Personal Trainer course, and eventually onto their specialist pre and post-natal course.... and that as they say.... is that. I’m now a qualified trainer and feel really strongly that all women should know that they can and indeed should exercise during their pregnancy; but that they be educated regarding the physical changes they will go through, and of how they should adapt their exercise programmes accordingly at each stage.
I enjoy all sorts of sports, but moreover I enjoy running, strength training, swimming and cycling, and I compete regularly in competitive events. I’m certainly not afraid of a challenge! In fact, I climbed Mount Kenya on my honeymoon and I can also claim to be a summer and winter Tough Guy.
How can I help you?
With conflicting information everywhere about what to do and what not to do, it’s a minefield out there! Add this together with the pressures of work and family life and it’s hard to know where to start. How on earth can you use your time most efficiently but effectively? That’s where I come in!
I know from experience that when it comes to exercise more isn’t necessarily best, and that when it comes to food eating definitely isn’t cheating. Once you understand how your body works, and of how you can improve your body and fitness through exercise, it all makes sense!
For almost all people the key is in nutrition and muscular strength and balance, for both men and women alike. Muscular strength and core exercise is not just important, it’s essential!
And the best bit...... I’m not perfect and I don’t claim to be. I am a normal young woman, continuously learning, and continuously striving to change my habits and to better myself, in order to have a healthier and happier life, and I love to help other people to do the same.
I understand that there needs to be a healthy balance between all areas of your life. With my help, advice and encouragement.... it is possible to do it all!
