Dear Aaron, I would just like to thank you and Ben for all your help over the last twelve months. Thanks to Ben’s dedication and encouragement my fitness levels are significantly improved and I feel fitter and healthier as a result of my regular sessions. Ben somehow makes exercise fun, something I would never expect to say! I would highly recommend Ben as a  trainer to anyone looking to improve their fitness, he is encouraging without being too pushy, and always gives praise when you put the effort in.

Ben Andrews

Ben's early passion for health and fitness soon led to a desire for a greater understanding of the body and how it adapts.  He went on to study, amongst other subjects, Physical Education at A-Level.  During this time he started coaching the local under 8's & 9's football teams, while still playing for the local men's team.

Gaining his first coaching awards while studying - the first being the Central Council for Physical Recreation, followed by the Athletic Activities Leadership Award (British Athletic Association), he encountered many new challenges.  These have proved to be a useful backbone in current coaching situations, whereby a wide range of abilities are catered for in the same session.  This was born from coaching mixed ability Special Educational Needs children, who were physically and/or mentally handicapped.  A role that was, as ever, duly relished.

In 2000, Ben qualified with a BSc. (Hons) Degree in  Sport Science, before taking a year off to go travelling and working. Settling in Bristol in 2001, he worked as a Fitness Instructor while taking a fast-track Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification.  Qualification ensued in the  first year, with experience being gained over the next  four and a half years as a Gym Co-ordinator and Personal Trainer.

Specialties lie in strength training and endurance training, of which he can be seen competing regularly in 10km (frequently placing in the top 10), cross country, half and full marathon races - even during the football season.

Not fazed by the different physical and mental challenges that are offered to him, he has endured numerous different training styles and regimes.  A no-nonsense approach to training, which is further drawn from his experiences as a reservist for the Royal Marines, has enabled Ben to empathise with the challenges faced by his clients.

However, this comes with a certain level of expectation in the effort and attitudes of his clients.  Reflected in the undeniable improvements that his clients achieve, whether it is through a 1 to 1 basis, or part of our highly successful Running Club and Get Fit Boxing classes, then you can be sure to exceed what you thought your boundaries once were.

So whatever your personal challenges are, whether you're just starting to get into exercise, getting ready for a hike in the Lake District, or competition preparation, then drop him an email at benandrews@aarontyler.co.uk to arrange your initial health assessment.
